Where is the outrage! Where are the hoards of all the concerned citizens. Especially the concerned citizens that were railing against Mike Vick. Does their concern stop with humans. Absolutely amazing.
Thats all I got.

Worrying
I've decide to write down all my worries, which are many. Seems like I worry alot about everything. It's not a chronic debilitating worry...more like brooding about problems, decisions, lack, etc.
I came up with some steps:
1. Write down all my worries.
2. Hand all my worries over to God.
I might write down the outcome if the worries came true. Then hand them over to God. I'm tired of holding on. Worrying. Thinking. Thinking about this can't happen, that can't happen, etc.

TV Shows
Thought I'd let you know what I'm watching.
Two and Half Men: Brilliant show. It's worked since day one. Most shows can't survive when the kid gets old. We couldn't wait until Jake got older...and dumber. Plots are getting more intricate along with story twists. If your not watching this - start now.
Weeds: Now this is a great show. The characters and plots are highly addictive (excuse the pun). What I like is that nobody on this show apologizes or has guilt about their actions, habits, screwups, decisions...NOTHING. The cast of characters on this show are the most f*cked up bunch ever. Good stuff.
Gary Unmarried: It's funny.
Entourage: The ups and downs of these fools are cool. It's just interesting to get an inside look at Hollywood Players. You can take alot from this show just about life and chasing dreams.
Cold Case: Yeeeaaahh. I don't know. Something about solving old murders is fresh. Interviewing some asshole who thinks they got away with a crime years ago. Fun trying to figure it out.
The New Adventures of Old Christine: Julie Louis is just good. Politically Incorrect. Sitting here thinking about it makes me laugh.
Curb your Enthusiasm: Larry David is a genious. This show is the best hands down. Couldn't wait until this re-aired. I can watch these all day. If your not watching this - your crazy. Super Dave Osborne is on this show. Nuff Said!

Winners Move Forward
I need to write more to develop my voice. After I finish the script I'm writing now - and hitting the ground hard to get it read (taking small steps - getting it read is a major step).
It's a horror/comedy script. I figure the horror genre is slighly easier to crack. Besides, I like these kind of movies. It seems these guys just churn out movie after movie. I'm going for the far out and bizarre. So far I'm on the right track. Whenever I write a scene - I ask myself how can I take it further. How can this get more ridiculious or more absurb. What can keep the reader/producer turning the pages. That's my goal.
Let's get to the point.
Mike Singletary (the 49er's head coach) post game conference was interesting. They were beating the Vikings the whole game. They lost in the last seconds, by a Favre pass to the back of the end zone. Only 1 to 2 quarterbacks right now complete that pass. So, it happened.
His take was to keep looking forward. Singletary stated that winners move forward (he said this in the press conference) and losers look back - wallowing in the past. He said his team will now concentrate at the next task, which is to beat the Rams (they suck). He stated that people that keep looking back cannot be successful in the present. You learn from your mistakes and you move on.
Good advice. If we all did this - we all probably be better off. That's all I have.

Change of Focus
Decided to change focus here on this blog. I'm just gonna write stuff - whatever comes to mind. I'll still review books, but don't expect some sophisticated wordy review. I'll just tell you briefly about the book and what I liked or disliked about it.
I really wanted some centrally themed blog that 1000's would read daily (how the fuck do bloggers get all those readers in such a short amount of time) and post comments about shit I write. It seems really cool to have all those readers.
That sort of thing really doesn't work for me for whatever reason. It seems I'll start something and then drop it after awhile and then come back to it later. Maybe I got ADD or something. I will keep blogging though.
So far I have one reader. So, thank you for reading one reader.
Right now I'm reading Freaky Deaky, another Elmore Leonard novel. It's cool so far. It's not as hard boiled as the others. The plot is interesting though. I can't wait to see how the plot unfolds. I wonder how this dude knows so much about crime and low life people - specifically Blacks and other minorities.
I've always had theories about writers that focus on hardcore crime. I believe these dudes know some of these criminal types and hear the stories. Then write the stories.

REVIEW Bright Shiny Morning
Forget what has been said and written about James Frey. So what he fudged a few details about his past...he's an alcoholic and druggie. They tend to make shit up. Whaddya expect.
Now this book Bright Shiny Morning is a fictional account of several inhabitants in L.A. Some are about one person up to generations of families. The stories are not in order like a short story format, but stop and pick up later on the book. The start of each chapter has a factual tidbit about L.A.
This is a great book. Some of the stories are outstanding. I'm not sure if they are based (the book notes that the stories are fictional - don't wanna get on the big O's bad side) real people, but damn - if they are...read the book. It's well worth it. I find myself re-reading parts multiple time. It's worth the buy. James is a good writer.

Book Store Intellectuals
These dudes are funny. They're usually ex hippies or militants of some sort. They usually dress in a manner that you know their theme of life. They talk to everyone sitting in the coffee area. Always proposing questions about world issues, politics, sports, every damn thing.
Once you get hooked in - it's hard to dip out of the conversation. They're mildly interesting for about 8 minutes then after that it's blah, blah, blah. These dudes spit game like they're pulling your coat on some revolutionary info. Classified shit. Top Secret.
I listen to these dudes. If your moderately well read, the info is not new. Some people aren't well read - so the conspiracy talk is fascinating. Next time you hit Borders - be on the look out.
